More Moths

At long last, a few more moths appearing but numbers still way down on last year. One of the more striking (and relatively common) visitor to the garden is the Brimstone Moth pictured below.

Many moths are brown and quite cryptic making ID tricky. This one (below) is from the pug family and appears to be a Common Pug.

Recent Moths and Beasts

The garden was a bit overgrown on our return but we have had fledgling dunnock, song thrush, blackbird and starling.
Still plenty of siskin and goldfinch about and we have up to 11 mallard taking up residence on front garden or the road...

Now been back a week after a holiday to Turkey where we experienced no rain and temps in the 30's about every day so any birding was done early morning.
